Chinese Tourists can now travel to Iran visa-free
Since July 2019, the Iranian government, working with the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran, has approved a proposal that allows Chinese tourists to enter Iran without a need for a visa.
Chief of the ICHTO, Ali Asghar Mounessan, mentioned that this decision will hopefully boost Iran’s tourism sector and will increase the revenues coming from this industry. He said that the goal of the ICHTO is to have at least two million tourists from China annually, which considering the increasing number of Chinese tourists throughout the world is a fairly manageable number for Iran.
Outbound tourism in China has been growing in the past several years and they have shown a tendency toward Iran. Chinese tourists love to visit Isfahan, Shiraz, Kashan, Yazd and the capital Tehran.
Last month, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, entailed to issue Iran visa stamp on a visa paper not on the passport. This move will, also, boost and encourage travelers to visit and explore Iran.
