Join us on this journey to monitor Iran’s most important habitats and observe the critical species of birds residing or migrating to Iran in 19 days. This tour is suitable for birdwatchers and ornithologists as well as those interested in wildlife like photographers. We will search the invaluable sites in both north and western Iran and enjoy the narrative of sceneries besides our primary objective. Iran’s biodiversity in northern Hyrcanian forests, Alborz highland, central arid plateaus, gorgeous wetlands, and the southern coastline allows us to explore this country for unique species such as the Caspian snowcock, Siberian White Crane, Iranian (Pleske's) Ground Jay, Houbara Bustard, Sind Woodpecker, brown fish owl, and many more. Note that being in good physical condition to hike, trek, and monitor for more than three hours is very important.

Day1
We will meet each other at the airport and start our journey as we head towards the Central Alborz. We will have our lunch in the heart of nature. To see one of the most beautiful birds residing upon the heights of Iran, we will have to hike for a few hours. And finally, straddling Tehran and Alborz's ridges, we will search for the Caspian snowcock. Alborz mountain ranges embrace various stunning ecosystems and showcase gorgeous species such as Eastern Goldfinch, Masked Wagtail, and many other Passeriformes. Moreover, upon the magnificent sceneries, we might be able to see many species of prey birds flying against the dazzling light of the sun. Later, we will move towards Mahmudabad in Mazandaran province to rest for the night.
Note that due to climatic changes and the destruction of wildlife habitats, we might face some difficulties finding some target species, and it is probable that we fail to observe them.

Day 2
On the second day of our journey, we will move towards the Fereydunkenar Wetland to experience the exciting quest for the only Siberian White Crane that migrates to this lagoon each year. Fereydunkenar Wetland, one of the richest ecosystems in northern Iran, is home to many migratory birds, waterfowl, and shorebirds during the winters. The Siberian White Crane named Omid, the last remaining bird from the western population of this species, is among those migratory birds. We have to consider the difficulties of this quest. We will have to search among the hunting areas and move through the thick vegetation around the wetland to reach this bird. We might also see many other birds, such as the black-headed penduline tit. In the night, we will move towards our next destination and stay in a local eco-lodge for the night.

Day 3
The third day of our adventure includes another important ecosystem in northern Iran. Miankaleh wetland, located on the Miankaleh peninsula in Mazandaran Province, is one of the destinations for many birds flying hundreds of miles each year.
It hosts remarkable species such as the common pochard, whooper swan, white-tailed eagle, Dalmatian pelican, white-headed duck, red-breasted goose, bean goose, and smew.
The beauty and serenity of the surrounding natural sites multiply the value of this area. You can enjoy the glittering rays of the sun, shedding its dim light over the surface of the water, and the figure of the waterfowl when it meets the horizon. Miankaleh is a heavenly sanctuary for migratory birds in Iran, and we will spend the day monitoring the birds residing in this sanctuary.

Day 4
We will head towards Golestan Province, and within almost 2 hours, we will reach the Gomishan wetland. We will spend the early hours of the day in this gorgeous site monitoring birds. Later on, we will move towards the Alagol and Almagol lakes nestling close to each other. These three wetlands are significant due to the exceptional aquatic birds and plants they enfold in their bosoms. Monitoring these three valuable sites features watching stunning birds such as black-headed penduline tit, White-crowned Penduline, Little Bustard, Pallas's Sandgrouse, and other Passeriformes. As the sky darkens, we will drive towards Golestan National Park to spend the night in an ecolodge.
