The Zagros Mountains, Iran’s second-highest range, are home to a rich tapestry of nomadic life. For generations, nomads have roamed these mountains, their tents scattered across the breathtaking Poshtkuh region—a place so stunning that many nomads chose to settle there permanently. On our 3-day nomadic adventure, we’ll take you deep into this land, traveling by private 4WD to experience a bit of everything this unique region has to offer. We’ll visit the nomads in their traditional black tents, immersing ourselves in the authentic Bakhtiari lifestyle. You’ll sleep under the stars as the nomads do, sharing their meals and stories. Along the way, we’ll stop by the Khoye Eco Center and museum, hike past a mesmerizing waterfall and ancient salt mine, and explore the remote, enchanting village of Sar Agha Seyed, with its terraced homes and ancient traditions. Throughout this journey, you’ll experience the untouched nature of the Zagros Mountains, near the headwaters of the Dez River, and connect with some of the last remaining nomadic tribes in the world. If we’re lucky, we might even witness the awe-inspiring sight of nomadic families during their seasonal migration, known as “Kooch.” This is more than a tour—it’s a deep dive into a timeless way of life that few have the chance to experience.
